Calle Sagitario (Sagittarius Street) winds secretly along the coast in the Conchas Chinas neighborhood of Puerto Vallarta below the main highway, and it features a host of private luxury villas dotting the beautiful rocky beaches of the area. One of the original villas built in the 1970s still maintains its traditional old-world Mexican style, with tons of red brick and colonial-style arches. This particular villa also features one of the largest residential thatched “palapas” in all of Puerto Vallarta, housing the main living/dining room.
The main feature of the house that makes it a spectacular wedding venue is the enormous oceanfront terrace that opens off that large palapa, complete with swimming pool and amazing views of the beach and the Bay of Banderas beyond. There is room for 100 guests both for a ceremony and a poolside banquet/reception. You can also hold a ceremony on the beach below with the proper advance permits.
The beach in Conchas Chinas is rocky in places, but in front of this house there’s plenty of room in the sand to hold a ceremony for up to 100 guests. The rocks surrounding this immediate area also make for incredibly cool photos before and after the ceremony, perhaps at sunset? The beach is quite beautiful, and not nearly as busy as some other nearby beaches, so you and your guests can really enjoy it.
The villa has only four bedroom suites, so it works well as a wedding venue for those couples who might want to just host their closest family members, and not make too much of a financial commitment for a large group. Like most private villas, this house features a full-time staff of three members, a house manager, a housekeeper and a chef.
One other great feature of this villa is its proximity to Old Town Vallarta, just about 15-20 minutes away walking, either right along the beach or along side streets. Of course a taxi ride would take no more than 5 minutes tops.
