On a gorgeous and romantic February evening, Alexis and Pier-Paul from Montreal, Canada, got married at the lovely beachfront Casa Las Palapas in Nuevo Vallarta in front of 45 friends and family members.
For their ceremony, we festooned a large tropical bush with more than 50 birds of paradise flowers to make a colorful backdrop. The large swimming pool at Casa Las Palapas featured our new large wax candle holders.
Alexis’ family traveled from nearby Guadalajara for the destination wedding, and the ceremony and speeches took place in French and Spanish, as well as some English—a truly North American affair!
The couple decorated their tables with simple yet adorable settings—tropical leaves, pineapples, candles, and best of all, traditional Mexican dolls at each place setting. The tables were whimsically named after famous Mexican and French Canadian divas, and we just strung the table placement cards around palm tree bases! Bamboo chairs completed the tropical setup!
The wedding banquet featured a typical Mexican “taquiza” or taco bar by local gourmet Chef Angel Alvarez, with freshly-made tortillas and a variety of stews and dishes.
