Cozumel is the largest island off the Riviera Maya coast in Mexico, and is best known as a cruise and scuba destination. With good reason, because its water is clearer and its reef system is larger than pretty much anywhere else here in Mexico. It also makes a wonderful wedding destination!
One boutique hotel remains relatively undiscovered by both the cruise and the scuba crowds. It’s located on the calmer north shore of the island, approximately 3 miles north of the ferry terminal. With 44 rooms, this small hotel is a possibility for a group buyout for a wedding—it’s only necessary to book 80% of their rooms to qualify for what they consider a buyout. All but three rooms face the ocean and all are spacious and beautifully decorated in a modernist style with many traditional Mexican artisan touches.
The main beauty of this location is the water, of course, and this hotel features a huge area divided into three main sections so that it never feels crowded. The southern section has the sandy beach with beach beds and loungers, and behind it is the main hotel restaurant. In the middle is the large swimming pool, and below it is the “caleta” where steps lead down into a small inlet where you can enter the water for either snorkeling or scuba diving. The third section is made up mainly of a partially covered area for hanging hammocks and a promontory that houses the jacuzzi. On this side is also found their dive shop where you can rent scuba and snorkeling equipment.
This enormous area is great for weddings and other events. There is a wooden pier that can work for your ceremony, or it can take place on the sandy area. The restaurant area is normally used for the banquet, and you could put a cocktail reception either on the platform above the restaurant, over by the pool, or even in the farther-away hammock area. The hotel only permits weddings using their catering and service providers, but they do permit additional decoration and some outside service providers like photographers and DJs.
These photos can only capture part of the amazing charm of this tropical paradise!

LOGISTICS:
AIR–One distinct advantage of using a Cozumel venue is that you and your group can fly directly into its small and convenient airport from major US airline hubs, without having to deal with the much-larger Cancun airport. The Cozumel airport is barely 5-10 minutes from this hotel.
LAND/SEA—If you prefer to fly into Cancun’s airport, you can take the ADO bus to Playa del Carmen and then take the popular ferry across to Cozumel. This way is a bit more complicated and certainly longer, but it can sometimes be much cheaper to use the larger airport at Cancun. Contact us for more logistical details.
LODGING OPTIONS—We wouldn’t expect your group to surpass the availability of this hotel, but rest assured in case you have a very large group! There are several other very nice hotels within easy walking distance of this one!
WEDDING PACKAGE—The main wedding package offered by this hotel is $153 US dollars per person, and includes just about everything that you’d want—site, reception, banquet, DJ, simple decorations, a spa treatment for the couple and special room decorations for the couple. The hotel management is typically pretty reasonable in negotiating in case there are things included in the package that you don’t need.
